Welcome!
My name is Miss Ashley and I am a 4th grade teacher at Santi Elementary School in Westminster County, KY. This is my first of year of teaching. I have a Bachelors degree in history from Eastern Kentucky University and a Masters degree in elementary education from the University of the Cumberlands, both of which I graduated with honors.
As a young child I enjoyed playing "school." I was the techer and my students were an assortment of dolls, stuffed animals, and even the family cat when she was willing. This innocent childhood playing-acting blossomed into a sincere desire to teach. Not a lot has changed since then (well, except for my students). I am looking forward to a wonderful year of teaching and learning. I believe in teaching a minimum of facts and a maximum of ideas. My students are not taught what to think, but how to think. My students are learning how to make a difference.
